Star wars bounty hunter meme11/29/2023 He outwits, outfights, and outruns the Jedi Knights and is a constant nemesis of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Cad Bane breathes through specialized tubes that stop him from being Force choked, and uses a pair of rocket boots that help him to keep up with even the fastest Force-wielding opponents. One of Cad Bane's many specialties was going toe-to-toe with Jedi Knights, making him a popular (and highly compensated) employee of the Hutts and even Darth Sidious. The young Boba Fett looked up to him, and it's clear that Cad Bane had an influence on him. Completing his "Wild West" look, he uses a signature pair of LL-30 blaster pistols, making him ready for a quick draw or a shoot-out.ĭespite his quirky appearance, Cad Bane is no joke. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter released in 2002 and never received a follow-up, but its ideas could flourish if given the extra room of an open world. His distinctive appearance - blue skin, red eyes, and large "cowboy" style hat - make him difficult to miss. Regardless, he has one of the most prolific careers of any bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe.Ĭad Bane is a bounty hunter from the planet Duro who was active during the Clone Wars. In the extended universe, Boba Fett survived that encounter, but it remains to be seen if he does in the new canon. After Jango Fett's death, Boba Fett followed in his footsteps to become a bounty hunter, learning from the likes of Aurra Sing, Cad Bane, and Bossk.Įventually Boba Fett met his match when he took a tumble into the sarlacc pit on Tatooine. In Attack of the Clones (2002), it was revealed that he was the perfect clone copy of the bounty hunter Jango Fett, who raised Boba as his own son. He became an icon in fan culture and the subject of many adventures in the Extended Universe that would eventually become Star Wars Legends. Fans were curious about the backstory of the mysterious bounty hunter who successfully tracked the Millennium Falcon and brought Han Solo to Jabba the Hutt in The Empire Strikes Back (1980). Additionally, she utilized a wide array of creative methods in order to get the job done, and arguably she would not have been stopped or caught if it had not been for the two Jedi Knights.īoba Fett is, without a doubt, the most famous bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe. While Zam Wesell was not successfuly in The Attack of the Clones (2002), it is assumed that Jango Fett chose her for this mission because of her previous accomplishments. Jango Fett killed Zam Wesell with a poison dart rather than allow her to reveal his identity. However, this attempt was foiled by Anakin Skywalker, who along with Obi-Wan Kenobi, chased down and caught Zam Wesell. Wesell's next attempt to kill Padmé used deadly and poisonous insects called Kouhuns. The blast did not kill the Senator, but did kill her body double and many others. Zam Wesell attempted to kill Padmé twice, first by planting an explosive on her ship. Like fellow bounty hunter Cato Parasitti, Zam Wesell was a Clawdite, a reptilian changeling species from the planet Zolan that was able to take on the appearance of other people. Zam Wesell was a bounty hunter hired by Jango Fett to kill Senator Padmé Amidala.

Spiral notebooks.11/29/2023 Upcycling the spiral and deciding to go paperless are also eco-friendly choices. Then, you can recycle each component as you would with anything else. Italy lockdown end date11/29/2023 On top of finding enough doses, there have been logistical difficulties with delivery, problems over healthcare infrastructure and, in some countries, public hesitancy towards vaccines.Īfrica’s lack of vaccines – and the erratic supply of those that are eventually delivered – remains the No 1 challenge, however. But the answer for the developing world is not as simple as delivering more vaccines.įrom Africa to Latin America, Asia and the Caribbean, the same issues have been replicated. It is a stark figure that underlines just how serious a problem global vaccine inequity has become. Only 1% of the 1.3 billion vaccines injected around the world have been administered in Africa – and that comparative percentage has been declining in recent weeks. Read more by colleagues Aubrey Allegretti, Nicola Davis and Ian Sample here: Research by Public Health England that suggests the new variant is highly transmissible and partially resistant to vaccines has heightened concerns that a third wave could overwhelm the NHS. That is because, as restrictions ease, the virus can spread more easily among millions of people who have not been protected by vaccines. Outbreak modellers advising Sage expected a resurgence of infections even before the new variant, called B.1.617.2, was found in the UK. Despite the progress of the vaccination programme, advisers are unsure to what extent the new infections – which are at levels last seen at the end of March – will translate into hospitalisations and deaths. Ministers are grappling with whether a rise in cases and further spread of the Covid variant first discovered in India could throw Boris Johnson’s roadmap off track. Senior scientific advisers believe that, where possible, working from home makes sense beyond June because it would cut the number of people who come into contact with each other. The vaccines minister, Nadhim Zahawi, refused to deny that some restrictions such as mask wearing and working from home might remain in place to reduce the spread of the virus. Photograph: Dan Kitwood/Getty Imagesĭowning Street insisted it was too soon for speculation about whether the plan to lift all lockdown rules in England on 21 June could go ahead, prompting calls from the hospitality industry for the government to ensure it provided “advance notice” for struggling businesses of any “lingering” measures. The London borough of Hounslow is one of eight locations around England experiencing a rise in Covid-19 cases, driven largely by the virus variant first identified India. Kenya has extended its nightly curfew by 60 days to slow the spread of Covid-19, the interior ministry said. The ban, which does not apply to Italian citizens, was introduced in late April and was due to expire on Sunday. I taly has extended an entry ban for people coming from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, as a continued precaution against the more transmissible Indian variant. But the answer for the developing world is not as simple as delivering more vaccines. Only 1% of the 1.3 billion vaccines injected around the world have been administered in Africa – and that comparative percentage has been declining in recent weeks.South Africa has extended its nightly curfew and limited the number of people at gatherings to slow the spread of Covid-19 as positive cases surge, President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Sunday.Egypt will lift restrictions it imposed earlier this month to curb the spread the coronavirus, including early closure of shops and restaurants, from June 1, the cabinet said.Authorities in Vietnam have detected a new coronavirus variant that is a combination of the Covid variants first identified in India and the UK and spreads quickly by air, the health minister has said.A health expert affiliated with the World Health Organization has called on the US to share any intelligence it has about the origins of the coronavirus outbreak with the WHO and the scientific community.Scientists have warned ministers that a third wave of coronavirus may have already begun in Britain, casting doubt on plans in England to lift all lockdown restrictions in three weeks’ time. In the UK, ministers will adopt a cautious approach in deciding whether to ease lockdown on June 21, with hospitals already under pressure and health experts warning against “charging ahead”.Ministers have been urged not to “threaten” NHS staff by forcing them to get vaccinated against coronavirus under plans being considered by the government. Here’s a roundup of what’s been happening over the last few hours:

Serviceberry autumn brilliance fruit taste11/29/2023 They occasionally serve as host to caterpillars of viceroy, striped hairstreak and Canadian tiger swallowtail butterflies. The small, oval, finely serrated leaves emerge in spring with a reddish-purple tinge and mature to medium green. If one can beat the birds, the berries can be eaten raw or used for jams, jellies, baked goods and wine.Ĭome fall, the tree is in its full glory with red, yellow and orange coloring its leaves. Songbirds relish the berries and will eat them before they completely ripen. The berries of Allegheny serviceberry are rich in essential minerals, vitamin C and antioxidants and juicier and sweeter than other Amelanchier species. The berries resemble blueberries in size, color and taste. In summer, its berries change from green to red to blue to purplish-black, with more than one color appearing on the same fruit cluster. Its delicately fragrant white flowers with five ribbonlike petals appear in dropping clusters in April and provide an early source of nectar for bees and other pollinators. Noted for its four seasons of interest, Allegheny serviceberry is one of the first small trees to bloom in spring. The name Juneberry refers to when the berries start to ripen, and shadbush and shadblow to the flowers blooming with the spring-spawning runs of shad fish in brooks and streams. Another idea is that the flowers marked when the ground had thawed and graves could be dug. Serviceberry’s flowers marked the time when circuit-riding preachers could begin their rounds again and perform these ceremonies. Serviceberry goes back to when winter travel was difficult, and weddings, baptisms and memorial services were delayed until spring. Depending on where they grow, they may be called serviceberry, Juneberry, shadbush or shadblow. There’s much folklore about the common names for them in this country. Of those, 20 are found in the United States, with at least one native to every state except Hawaii. There are about 25 species of Amelanchier worldwide. Such a tree is Amelanchier laevis, the Allegheny serviceberry. If a tree also has four-season interest, it’s certainly one to consider for the home landscape. April might bring showers and May flowers, but it also brings bloom to some of Ohio’s native trees.

All this, and it took THREE curtain calls by Williams to get the crowd out of there. The Extra-Terrestrial, Empire Strikes Back (“Yoda’s Theme) and “The Imperial March” aka, Darth Vader’s Theme. And the crowd ate it up, cheering and begging for more.ĭuring the encore, Williams delivered an emotional finale, with E.T. It’s absolutely incredible to see live, if you get the chance.įrom there, it was off to a galaxy far, far away, which is clearly what the fans came for – selections from Star Wars, including “Asteroid Field,” “Princess Leia’s Theme,” and “Throne Room and Finale.” It was during this last selection that Williams and Dudamel participated in a hilariously epic light saber battle. Fan favorite Jurassic Park also made the cut this time, as well as an unbelievable performance of Schindler’s List, by Williams long-time Hollywood bowl Concertmaster and first chair violin virtuoso, Bing Wang. This year’s lineup included selections from the Indiana Jones franchise, both new (“Helena’s Theme”) and familiar (“Raiders March”). And to be fair, outside of Star Wars, Williams tries to not play the same thing time after time when he performs yearly at the Bowl. I’m sure, after having composed over 150 movie scores, it’s not easy to pick just a few. He walks to the podium, and after a short bow, taps the baton, acknowledges the orchestra, and away we go! He simply does what he does, and clearly loves. No announcement, no introduction (as if one were needed… lol). The second half of the show was clearly what the crowd was waiting for, and with light sabers in hand, they were ready! Amazingly, but not surprisingly, Williams walks out on stage with little fanfare. Dudamel then launched into some memorable pieces composed by Williams such as Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (“Duel of the Fates”), Amistad, and finally the main theme from Superman, that was perfectly accompanied by a video montage of Williams’ career. The first half of the performance with the LA Philharmonic, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, was a selection of well-known scores curated by John Williams, as pieces that are special to him, including Hooray for Hollywood, The Cowboys, and Vertigo. We’re guessing this is something he has gotten used to, considering that Saturday night marked an impressive 100th performance at the Bowl for Williams, a run that began in 1977. Williams, still going strong at 91, appeared on stage, like a spritely Jedi master…with hundreds of light sabers lighting up the Hollywood Bowl in his honor. This past weekend, fans were treated to 3 nights of some of the most iconic music in Hollywood movie history, conducted by “the maestro” himself, John Williams. “Look at all of you…it really is magical, isn’t it?” – John Williams

Anemona asia11/29/2023 The fruits are small ovoid achenes with straight styles. Taxonomy Įriocapitella hupehensis was described by Maarten J. Like other members of genus Eriocapitella, E. hupehensis was formerly a member of genus Anemone. hupehensis Lemoine was described in 1908. Southwest China: Guizhou, Sichuan, Yunnan.East and Southeast Asia: China, Taiwan, Myanmar.Eastern Himalaya: Nepal, Assam (northeast India), Tibet.Distribution Įriocapitella hupehensis is native to Asia, in the Eastern Himalaya region, East Asia, and Southeast Asia. The species was introduced into Czechoslovakia, Ecuador, and Germany. Ecology Įriocapitella hupehensis along with four other taxa ( E. × hybrida, E. japonica, E. tomentosa, and E. vitifolia) are known as fall-blooming anemones. In its native habitat, E. hupehensis flowers from July to October. Cultivation Įriocapitella hupehensis and its cultivars are cultivated worldwide, especially in Asia, Europe, and South America, where naturalized populations are known to exist. In China, E. hupehensis has been cultivated since at least the 17th century, probably dating back to the Tang dynasty (618–907). Hundreds of years ago, a semi-double form of E. hupehensis escaped cultivation and spread across China to Japan and Korea. This descendant of E. hupehensis, now known as E. japonica, is a parent of the artificial hybrid E. × hybrida. ^ a b c d Wang, Wencai Ziman, Svetlana N.^ a b c " Eriocapitella hupehensis (É.Lemoine) Christenh. His experiments included three cultivars of E. hupehensis: CultivarĪs of March 2020, the following cultivars have gained the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) from the Royal Horticultural Society: Īt the Chicago Botanic Garden, Rudy experimented with 26 cultivars of fall-blooming anemones over a 5-year period beginning in 1998.
